Pondicherry Engineering college is an autonomous institution fully funded by Government of Puducherry. Autonomy is granted for the purpose of effecting speedy administration.

Institute receives liberal funding from the Government, since it is the only Engineering institute in Government sector. Indeed , the Government of Pondicherry has spent a sum of Rs.40 Crores towards the developing the infrastructure.

Special research facilities have been augmented using the research grants received from MHRD,AICTE and DST.

All the academic programs except the two newly started disciplines (Chemical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering) have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA-AICTE).

Students are admitted to various courses through an All India Based Entrance Examination.

Faculty members are recruited through an open - competition system on All India Basis.

Student -Teacher Ratio stands at 11:1 as on date for entire institution.

One of the few institutes selected by MHRD across the nation to avail INDEST facility -A Digital Library connectivity to access IEEE,ASME,ASCE, and IEEE Journals.

Member of MALIBNET-Madras Library Network.

M/s Tata Consultancy Services has accredited our institute and placed our institute in Level A category for the Purpose of Campus Recruitment Programme and have recently signed an MOU with our college.
